Feralux is a Pop/Electro/Rock duo from Denver, CO comprised of Peter Standing and Jason Marino. Both former members of the band Fulcrum, Peter and Jason have been working on music together since early 2008.
The two joined forces in 2012 to begin writing dance songs for a new band that has been highly anticipated since its announcement. Their name “Feralux” (which translates to “wild light” in Latin), alludes to their “visually thrilling” live performance which consists not only of a full multi-instrument band, but also sequenced laser and projection lighting.
Their music comes as a fresh take to mainstream Top 40 Dance/Pop with a mixture of rock, dubstep, and even metal elements. Songwriters Peter and Jason are both influenced by a wide variety of musical genres and pay extra attention to melody, which is becoming more of a lost art in modern pop music.
Best 303 Sounds
With the release of their first single “Above The Stars”, modern rock radio station KTCL (Channel 93.3 FM) selected the song to be part of the Top 11 in their Hometown For The Holidays contest of 2013, where the song was played 4-5 times a day with strong positive feedback. The band then went to The Blasting Room in Fort Collins, CO to record their debut full-length album “Until The Sun Comes Up” with engineer Andrew Berlin (Rise Against/Tickle Me Pink/The Sounds), and then to Sterling Sound in New York City to have the album mastered by famed engineer Chris Gehringer (Rihanna/Lady Gaga/Katy Perry/Jay Z/Robin Thicke).
The album was released on Friday, May 9th, 2014 with a concert at Summit Music Hall in Denver, and is available now on iTunes, Amazon, and everywhere music is sold.
